2021 Ivor Award Nominations Announced

A huge congratulations to Anoushka Shankar and Alex Heffes whose soundtrack for A Suitable Boy has been nominated for Best Television Soundtrack at the Ivors 2021.

The winners will be announced at a ceremony on 21st September.

A Suitable Boy, directed by Mira Nair and first broadcast in August 2020, follows four linked families in North India including Mrs Rupa Mehra who is in search of a suitable husband for her youngest daughter Lata. Anoushka writes: 'Mira told me that she felt my style would be a good fit for A Suitable Boy. She wanted music that had a strong Indian sound but also a global sensibility. I was honoured to be asked but was a bit doubtful about timings as I was meant to be touring at the time. Of course, the lockdown changed things. Then, she suggested I work with Alex Heffes, which was wonderful. Together, we were able to achieve her vision'.
